Clover South Africa is inviting applications for the position of General Worker (Temporary) within its Production Department at the Heilbron Milk Powder facility in the Free State. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are physically fit, safety-conscious, and willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The role supports daily production operations and requires flexibility, commitment, and adherence to strict health and safety standards. Preference may be given to suitable internal Clover employees who wish to transfer to the Heilbron branch.
Purpose of the Position
The primary purpose of the General Worker role is to assist the Production team by completing basic operational and housekeeping tasks within the Milk Powder facility. The position involves handling products, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting production activities to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
This is a temporary position and does not guarantee permanent employment. However, it provides valuable experience within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing general production and support tasks, including but not limited to:
- Completing basic general work according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Handling and moving products safely and efficiently
- Shrink-wrapping products where required
- Sorting and separating damaged or non-conforming products
- Assisting with loading and off-loading activities
- Maintaining high housekeeping and cleanliness standards within the production area
- Complying with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
- Performing cleaning duties as required by the Production team
- Carrying out ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisors or management
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:
- Grade 12 / National Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively in Business English
- Willingness and ability to work in extreme conditions, including hot or cold environments
- Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
- Experience in Milk Powder production will be an advantage but is not essential
- Preference may be given to permanent internal Clover employees who wish to transfer to the Heilbron branch
