Overview
Value Group is offering an exciting 12-month unemployed learnership opportunity aimed at young South Africans who are interested in building a career in the Logistics and Supply Chain sector. This learnership forms part of Value Group’s commitment to improving access to education, skills development, and workplace exposure for unemployed youth.
The programme is designed to provide learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical workplace experience, culminating in an Occupational Certificate in Supply Chain Practitioner (NQF Level 5). Upon successful completion, learners will gain valuable industry-relevant skills that may improve their employability within the logistics and supply chain environment.
This learnership is suitable for individuals who are motivated, disciplined, and willing to commit to a structured training programme that combines classroom learning with hands-on operational exposure.
Learnership Programme Details
The learnership will run for a full 12-month period, starting on 2 March 2026 and ending on 28 February 2027. During this time, learners will participate in a structured training schedule that aligns with national occupational qualification standards.
Key Components of the Programme:
- Classroom-Based Training:
Learners will attend formal training sessions one week per month. These sessions include both theoretical instruction and practical exercises related to supply chain and logistics operations. - Workplace Experience:
Learners will gain on-the-job experience in a live operational environment, allowing them to apply what they learn in real workplace situations. - Work Schedule:
Learners will be required to work Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs. - Assessment and Examination:
At the end of the programme, learners will be required to complete the EISA examination as part of the occupational qualification requirements. - Monthly Stipend:
A monthly stipend will be provided to assist with travel costs to and from the site where the learner is placed. The stipend is intended to support participation in the programme and is not a salary.
Recruitment and Selection Process
Applicants should be aware that selection into the programme is competitive and subject to several assessment stages. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee placement.
The recruitment process includes:
- Face-to-Face Panel Interview:
Shortlisted candidates will attend a panel interview at the relevant regional location. - Literacy and Numeracy Assessments:
Applicants will complete assessments to evaluate basic reading, writing, and numerical skills required for the programme. - Criminal Background Check:
A criminal record check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Only candidates who successfully complete all stages will be considered for placement.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age Requirement:
Must be between 21 and 29 years old at the time of application. - Employment Status:
Must be unemployed at the time of application. - Education:
Must have a Matric (Grade 12) certificate with a minimum 50% pass rate. - Citizenship:
Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID. - Availability:
Must be available to commit to the full 12-month programme.
