The organization is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EPWP Administrator to join its Cape Town office in Bridgetown on a fixed-term contract ending 31 March 2028. Purpose of the Role

The EPWP Administrator will primarily assist the Team Leader: Office of the CFO by providing comprehensive administrative and financial support. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with finance, ICT, and administrative functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the division.


Key Responsibilities
  • Finance Support:
    • Assist in monitoring requests submitted to the Finance service desk.
    • Support the preparation and timely submission of financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist in facilitating requests for audit information and documentation.
    • Complete financial reconciliations and assist the finance transactions and reporting teams when required.
  • ICT and Administrative Assistance:
    • Conduct daily ICT health checks and ensure systems function optimally.
    • Collate and distribute committee meeting information accurately.
    • Keep all departmental registers updated and well-maintained.
    • Create purchase requisitions and follow procurement procedures.
  • Reporting and Project Management:
    • Monitor and flag upcoming tasks using a project management tool.
    • Compile data for reports and presentations.
    • Ensure timeous communication and completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Office Coordination:
    • Arrange meetings and take accurate minutes.
    • Respond to internal stakeholder queries promptly.
    • Provide general administrative assistance to support the Finance, ICT, and Shared Services division.
    • Assist in ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is required.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong administrative, financial, and communication abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape.
    • Sound interpersonal and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Willingness to learn, adapt, and travel when required.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Possession of a valid Code 8 driver’s license.
    • Positive attitude with a professional and proactive approach.

Recommendations (Desirable Skills and Experience)

While not essential, the following will be advantageous:

  • Accountancy or Mathematics as a subject at matric level.
  • Experience in External or Internal Audit, Finance, or ICT administration.
  • At least one year’s experience in a relevant administrative, finance, or audit role.

Remuneration and Contract Details
  • Remuneration: R424.36 per day (as per EPWP guidelines).
  • Contract Term: Fixed-term contract until 31 March 2028 (approximately 34 months).
  • Workplace: CapeNature Office, Bridgetown, Cape Town.

This position falls under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), which aims to provide work opportunities and skills development to South Africans in support of community-based projects and public service delivery.
