About the JumpStart Programme

Youth unemployment remains one of the biggest challenges facing South Africa. According to Stats SA’s Quarterly Labour Force Survey (Q1 2023), more than 62% of young people aged 15–24 are unemployed. The Mr Price Foundation is tackling this issue head-on through its JumpStart Programme, which bridges the gap between education and employment.

JumpStart provides free, industry-aligned training designed to meet the needs of employers while giving young South Africans practical work experience. The programme builds confidence, enhances professionalism, and helps participants transition from school to the workplace.
