Job Purpose
As a Call Centre Agent (New Accounts), you will play a key role in ensuring that all customer inquiries, store card applications, and account verification processes are handled efficiently and professionally. You will be responsible for providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers, maintaining accuracy in customer data, and contributing to the success of Mr Price Money’s growing credit base.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service Excellence
- Respond promptly to customer queries and correspondence to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Resolve issues efficiently to prevent backlogs and customer dissatisfaction.
- Maintain a professional and courteous telephone manner at all times.
- Account Verification and Processing
- Telephonically verify customers’ employment and personal details based on information provided in store card applications.
- Accurately capture and update customer details on the relevant debtor systems to ensure a current and reliable customer database.
- Process store card and credit applications across all Mr Price Group divisions to expand the customer and credit base.
- Review and assess supporting documentation such as payslips, ID copies, and proof of address to validate account applications.
- Communicate with customers to obtain missing information or documentation, ensuring smooth completion of their applications.
- Compliance and Data Integrity
- Ensure that all processes comply with company policies, legal frameworks, and industry regulations such as the Consumer Protection Act, National Credit Act, Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and ICASA guidelines.
- Handle all customer data with strict confidentiality and care.
- Uphold Mr Price’s reputation for ethical business conduct and integrity.

Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of customer verification processes and data management systems.
- Familiarity with legislation such as the Consumer Protection Act, National Credit Act, and POPIA.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and evaluation abilities to assess customer information accurately.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all customer data and account creation processes.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues quickly and implement practical solutions.
