This opportunity offers young South Africans the chance to gain practical workplace experience and accredited qualifications within the insurance industry.
Programme Overview
The Long Term Insurance Learnership Programme is a 12-month structured learning opportunity that combines:
- Theoretical training provided by an accredited learning institution; and
- Practical workplace experience within AVBOB’s business environment.
Upon successful completion, learners will obtain a National Certificate in Long Term Insurance (NQF Level 4, 140 credits) — a registered qualification that opens doors to various career paths in the insurance and financial services sectors.
This learnership is designed to give participants a strong foundation in client service, insurance administration, policy processing, and related professional skills, preparing them for future employment in the industry.
Programme Locations
This learnership opportunity will be based in:
- Tembisa (Gauteng)
- Bronkhorstspruit (Gauteng)
Applicants must be willing and able to work at either of these locations, as placement will be determined by the company’s operational needs.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the AVBOB Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must hold a valid Matric Certificate (Grade 12) with English, Mathematics, Mathematics Literacy, or Accounting.
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years at the time of application.
- Must be currently unemployed and not enrolled in any other learnership, internship, or educational programme.
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African identity document.
- Must have good communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Must possess basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, email, and internet use.
- Must be willing to work in Tembisa or Bronkhorstspruit for the duration of the learnership.
- Must demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Previous participation in any other learnership programme will result in disqualification.
