Position Overview
The Trainee Salesman (Parts) role is an entry-level opportunity designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to become a successful Parts Salesman within TWK Agri’s Trade Division. Under the guidance of experienced team members and managers, the trainee will gain exposure to key aspects of sales operations, including customer service, administration, stock control, and product knowledge.
This role provides hands-on experience in a busy retail environment, where accuracy, communication, and a customer-first attitude are essential. The successful candidate will learn how to assist customers effectively, prepare quotations, and handle daily administrative tasks that support the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the branch manager and senior sales team in the daily operations of the parts department.
- Assist with general administrative tasks, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and issue quotations and invoices for customers promptly and accurately.
- Participate in stock control activities, including regular stock taking and inventory organisation.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all clients receive professional assistance and product guidance.
- Develop an understanding of parts identification, pricing, and product catalogues.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the sales and storage areas.
- Learn to process transactions and handle basic point-of-sale activities as needed.
- Uphold TWK Agri’s values of integrity, reliability, and service excellence in all customer interactions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 certificate (required).
- Computer Literacy: Competent in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Personal Attributes:
- Dynamic and self-motivated individual with a strong willingness to learn.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passionate about sales and customer engagement.
- Professional attitude with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Additional Requirement: Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
No prior experience is required — this position is ideal for individuals at the start of their careers who are eager to gain practical training and experience in sales within the agricultural industry.
