TWK Agri is currently inviting applications from dedicated and service-driven individuals for the position of Merchandiser at its Umzimkulu, KwaZulu-Natal branch.
Position Overview
The Merchandiser role forms an integral part of TWK Agri’s retail operations. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a strong eye for detail, and take pride in maintaining a well-presented store.
The Merchandiser will be responsible for displaying products attractively, assisting customers with their purchasing needs, and ensuring accurate stock control. This role requires a combination of customer service, organisational skills, and an understanding of retail merchandising principles.
The successful candidate will work closely with store management and other team members to ensure that the store meets its presentation standards and that customers have a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and advise customers in-store by providing product information and guidance to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
- Merchandise and display stock to ensure that shelves are neatly arranged, products are correctly priced, and promotional materials are visible.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised store environment that reflects TWK Agri’s commitment to professionalism and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct stock control and monthly stock counts, ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and discrepancies are reported promptly.
- Work closely with the management team to identify best-selling products and ensure that these items are always adequately stocked.
- Support the implementation of marketing and promotional activities to increase product visibility and sales.
- Ensure all safety standards and company policies are followed while performing daily duties.
- Fulfil any additional tasks or duties assigned by management as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 certificate (required).
- Experience: Entry-level position; previous retail or merchandising experience will be advantageous.
- Computer Literacy: Basic knowledge of retail computer systems and general software applications.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of hardware and agricultural products is an advantage.
- Familiarity with TWK Agri’s product range or similar retail stock preferred.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and marketing abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and professional demeanour.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel when required.
