An opportunity has become available for an experienced General Worker – Assistant Driver within the Consumer division under the Epol Berlin contract. The primary purpose of this role is to support delivery operations by ensuring that loading and offloading of company products is carried out safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
The General Worker – Assistant Driver will play a vital role in supporting delivery and warehouse functions. Core responsibilities include:
Loading and Offloading
- Safely load and unload company products
- Ensure goods are handled with care to prevent damage
- Assist with proper stacking and securing of products
Delivery Assistance
- Support drivers in locating delivery destinations when necessary
- Help ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Obtain client or customer signatures to confirm receipt of goods
Documentation and Reporting
- Compile accurate delivery records and reports
- Report delivery-related issues or discrepancies to management
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation procedures
Vehicle and Equipment Care
- Clean trucks and assist with vehicle upkeep
- Support unloading of delivery vehicles at the end of each shift
General Housekeeping
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Follow company health and safety standards
- Perform additional reasonable tasks as instructed by the Supervisor
The role requires consistent adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification
- Prepared to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Clean criminal record
- Medically fit and physically capable of manual labour
- Proven experience in warehousing, manufacturing, or transport and logistics
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull, and lift heavy objects repeatedly
- Ability to follow instructions from a Supervisor
