The Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for two (2) Internship positions within its Education, Training and Quality Assurance (ETQA) Division. This opportunity is aimed at graduates who are eager to gain practical workplace experience within the skills development and quality assurance environment.
The internship programme is designed to provide structured training, mentorship, and hands-on exposure to the operations of the ETQA division. Successful candidates will be based at the HWSETA offices in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, and will contribute to administrative and support functions that ensure the effective delivery of education and training quality assurance processes.
Purpose of the Internship
The ETQA Internship Programme forms part of HWSETA’s commitment to developing young professionals and contributing to national skills development priorities. Interns will receive practical exposure to ETQA systems, procedures, and compliance requirements, while developing essential workplace competencies such as administration, communication, coordination, and reporting.
This internship is ideal for graduates who are interested in the education, training, and development sector and who wish to build a foundation for a career in quality assurance, skills development, or public sector administration.
Key Responsibilities
While specific duties may evolve over the duration of the internship, interns can expect to be involved in the following areas:
- Providing administrative support to the ETQA Division
- Assisting with the processing, filing, and management of documentation related to education and training quality assurance
- Supporting the coordination of ETQA activities, meetings, and projects
- Capturing and maintaining data on internal systems and databases
- Assisting with compliance monitoring and record-keeping
- Responding to routine queries and providing general office support
- Adhering to organisational policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Participating in training, development activities, and performance reviews as required
Interns will work under supervision and will be given opportunities to learn and grow within a professional and structured environment.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirement:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Training and Development
Applicants who have recently completed their qualification and have limited or no formal work experience are encouraged to apply. The internship is intended to support graduates who require workplace exposure to enhance their employability.
Stipend and Duration
- Monthly Stipend: R12,192.65
- Internship Duration: 24 months
Please note that this is a temporary internship position and does not guarantee permanent employment upon completion. The stipend is offered for the full duration of the internship, subject to satisfactory performance and compliance with HWSETA requirements.
