This internship is designed to give an N6 Human Resource student comprehensive exposure to the full Human Resources function while placing a strong emphasis on Training & Development. The intern will gain hands-on experience in training needs analysis, training coordination, facilitation support, material development, and learning administration, in addition to core HR activities such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations admin, and HR systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Training and Development (Primary Focus):
Assist in conducting training needs analysis using WSPs, performance data, skills plans and operational feedback.
Support the planning and coordination of internal and external training programmes.
Help prepare training materials, presentations, assessments, registers, and attendance documentation.
Provide logistical support for workshops, meetings, inductions and conferences.
Assist with scheduling, facilitator support, venue preparation, equipment set-up, and record-keeping.
Capture and maintain training data for compliance, audits and reporting.
Support the evaluation of training effectiveness and workplace application of learning.
Assist in developing learning content, worksheets, checklists or e-learning support materials.
General Human Resource Exposure (Secondary focus):
Support recruitment processes (advertising, screening, interview scheduling, reference checks).
Assist with onboarding and induction administration.
Provide HR admin support including filing, document control, and updating employee records.
Assist with HRIS data updates (skills inventory, leave/attendance data, personnel information).
Participate in HR initiatives such as employee relations processes, performance management admin, and organisational culture projects.
Ensure compliance with labour legislation, confidentiality standards, and HR policies.
Skills and Competencies
Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
Strong facilitation skills.
Good planning, organizational ability and attention to detail.
MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Eagerness to learn and grow.
Professional conduct and strong work ethic.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Interest in Training & Development is essential.

Qualifications
Matric (essential).
Human Resource Management N6 – requiring 18 months workplace experience for Diploma completion (essential).
Registered with a relevant TVET College- candidate will be required to submit Workplace Integration Letter (WIL) during the application process.
