Position Overview

A permanent opportunity is available for a General Worker within the Production Department at a Powder Factory based in Queensburgh, KwaZulu-Natal. The purpose of this role is to provide essential production support services that contribute to a safe, efficient, and well-organised manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of hands-on tasks, including product handling, shrink-wrapping, cleaning, loading, and sorting damaged products. This position is well suited to individuals who are physically fit, dependable, and willing to work in demanding production conditions while adhering to strict health and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

The General Worker will be expected to perform duties that support daily production operations. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out basic production tasks in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Assisting with shrink-wrapping, loading, and handling of products
  • Sorting and separating damaged or non-conforming products as directed
  • Supporting the production team with general operational tasks as required
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and hygienic work environment through proper housekeeping practices
  • Complying with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations at all times
  • Assisting with ad-hoc duties as requested by supervisors or management to support production efficiency

The role requires attention to detail, consistency, and a strong sense of responsibility, as production support staff play a critical role in maintaining quality and safety standards.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered for this position:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent National Certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • Fluency in Business English
  • Ability and willingness to work in extreme or challenging conditions
  • Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required
  • Must successfully pass all readiness and suitability assessments as part of the recruitment process
