Cleaner – Corporate Office Environment
Position Summary
AFMS Group, through its service partner Intembeko Environmental Solutions (Pty) Ltd, is seeking a Cleaner to provide a professional, efficient, and effective cleaning service within a corporate office environment based in Mitchells Plain, Western Cape. The purpose of this role is to maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-presented facility that supports a healthy and productive working environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out daily cleaning tasks in accordance with established procedures, service standards, and health and safety requirements.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The Cleaner will be responsible for performing cleaning duties across various areas of the corporate facility, including but not limited to:
- Offices, meeting rooms, pause areas, kitchens, canteen areas, ablutions, internal windows, and common spaces
- Dusting, sanitising, and disinfecting surfaces, furniture, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are maintained
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning floors to uphold cleanliness and safety requirements
- Emptying waste bins regularly and disposing of waste according to approved procedures
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting shortages or replacement needs to the supervisor
- Following established cleaning schedules, procedures, and checklists to ensure consistent service delivery
- Ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies
- Assisting with periodic or special cleaning projects as required by management
- Participating in training sessions to improve cleaning techniques and knowledge of equipment and materials
- Providing constructive feedback on cleaning processes to support continuous improvement
- Working collaboratively with team members, office staff, and clients in a professional manner
For operational reasons, the Cleaner may occasionally be required to perform tasks outside the scope of those listed above. Management reserves the right to amend prescribed procedures when necessary to meet operational requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
Experience
- Previous experience in a cleaning role within a corporate, commercial, or similar environment
Knowledge
- Basic understanding of general hygiene practices, including safe handling and disposal of cleaning materials
- Familiarity with facility layouts to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning
- Knowledge of common cleaning products, their correct use, and associated safety measures

As Intembeko Environmental Solutions (Pty) Ltd operates as a service provider, all duties performed by the Cleaner reflect directly on the client. Employees are therefore required to maintain professional conduct at all times and ensure that services are delivered according to client requirements and agreed service levels.
