Role Purpose

This learnership is designed for unemployed youth living in Gauteng who are eager to develop skills, gain workplace experience, and build a foundation for a career in the medical aid administration and insurance industry. The programme combines structured theoretical learning with practical, on-the-job experience in a professional contact centre environment.

The learnership will run for 12 months, from 01 February 2026 to 31 January 2027, and leads to an Occupational Certificate: Health Care Benefits Advisor (NQF Level 5, SAQA ID 105030). While successful completion does not guarantee permanent employment, it provides valuable industry exposure and improves future employability.


Learnership Overview

A learnership is a work-based learning programme that allows participants to gain practical experience while completing an accredited qualification. Learners will attend classroom-based training, participate in workplace activities, and complete assessments required by the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA).

During the programme, learners will be exposed to contact centre operations, client service principles, health care benefits administration, and organisational processes within Momentum Health.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Learners appointed to this role will be required to:

  • Attend all classroom training sessions and practical workplace activities as outlined in the learnership programme
  • Participate in on-the-job training and perform assigned tasks in line with Momentum Metropolitan requirements
  • Acquire knowledge of company products, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Compile and maintain a Portfolio of Evidence for submission to the SETA
  • Complete logbooks documenting work-based learning activities
  • Complete all formative and summative assessments and achieve the required competency levels
  • Demonstrate the ability to use company systems and understand operational processes
  • Conduct themselves professionally as representatives of Momentum Metropolitan and uphold company values
  • Prepare for and successfully pass the EISA examination

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • Mathematics passed with at least 40% or Mathematical Literacy passed with at least 60%
  • English and one other South African language passed with a minimum of 50%
  • South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 30
  • Unemployed and able to commit to the full 12-month programme
  • Not currently studying at a tertiary institution (full-time or part-time)
  • Must not have completed the same learnership previously
  • Able to commute independently to the workplace in Centurion
  • Computer literacy is an advantage
