Job Overview
The General Worker role involves providing operational support through manual labour, housekeeping, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will assist with handling materials, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting production processes as required.
This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant may be required to perform the following duties:
- Participate in physical labour activities, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials and products (up to 25kg)
- Stack and palletize finished products on designated pallets according to operational guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment at all times
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties within the work area
- Inspect raw materials and finished products for visible defects
- Complete quality control documentation when required
- Observe and comply with all workplace safety procedures and protocols
- Adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Identify, report, and assist in addressing potential safety risks or hazards
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and quality policies applicable to the site
Duties may vary depending on operational requirements and production schedules.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Medically and physically fit for manual labour
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and overtime when required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of basic workplace safety principles
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment may be advantageous but is not always mandatory.
