Available Positions
We are hiring for multiple roles across our stores, including:
- General Assistant – Help customers find products, restock shelves, maintain cleanliness, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Cashier – Handle cash and card transactions, issue receipts, process refunds, and deliver excellent customer service at the till point.
- Bakery Assistant / Baker – Prepare and bake bread, pastries, and other bakery products, while maintaining food safety and freshness standards.
- Butchery or Perishables Assistant – Assist in the butchery or deli section, ensure displays are well presented, and provide product information to customers.
- Receiving Clerk / Inventory Clerk – Receive and check deliveries, organize stock, assist with stock counts, and help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Trainee Manager / Assistant Store Manager – Support the store manager with daily operations, team supervision, and performance goals. This is a great pathway for those interested in leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
Your specific duties may vary depending on your role, but most team members will:
- Greet customers with a friendly smile and offer assistance when needed.
- Provide accurate information about products and promotions.
- Handle transactions quickly and accurately, ensuring customers have a smooth checkout experience.
- Restock shelves, maintain product displays, and ensure merchandise is always neat and available.
- Receive deliveries, organize back-room storage, and assist with inventory management.
- Keep the store clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Work as part of a team to meet store targets and deliver outstanding service.
- Follow all company procedures, including safety, security, and environmental guidelines.
For management and supervisory roles, you may also assist with scheduling, staff supervision, performance tracking, and customer issue resolution.
Job Requirements
To qualify for most store positions, applicants should have the following:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
- Good communication skills in English
- A clear criminal record
- Ability to live or travel within 25 km of the store location
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Some positions (such as bakery, butchery, or inventory control) may require specific experience or technical knowledge.
Preferred Skills and Experience
While not mandatory, the following will be an advantage:
- South African citizenship or valid work permit
- Previous experience in retail, grocery, or customer-facing roles
- Familiarity with stock management or POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the company
