About Triton Academy & Freight Handling

Triton Academy (part of Triton Express / Plennegy Group) is a TETA‑accredited training provider offering a National Certificate in Freight Handling. The programme combines classroom-based theory with hands‑on workplace experience in logistics, transport, and warehouse operations. It is designed to help unemployed youth gain skills in freight handling and build a career in the fast‑growing logistics sector.

What the Role Involves (Key Responsibilities)

As a Freight Handling General Worker / Learner, you will perform tasks such as:

  • Loading and off‑loading goods from vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Preparing vehicles and checking that goods are secured properly for transport.
  • Receiving incoming freight and verifying goods against documentation.
  • Dispatching goods, assisting with stock movements, and recordkeeping of freight documentation.
  • Performing warehouse duties including picking, packing, housekeeping, organising storage, and ensuring workspace cleanliness.
  • Following all health, safety, and security procedures in the workplace.
Who Should Apply (Requirements)

To be eligible, you should meet:

  • South African citizenship.
  • A minimum qualification of Grade 12 (Matric), or TVET N3 / NQF Level 2 / Level 3, depending on location.
  • At least 40% in English and Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy.
  • Be between approximately 23 and 35 years old.
  • Medically fit and physically able to perform tasks involving lifting, standing, loading/unloading.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekend hours, and possibly irregular or extended hours.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Reside in or near relevant areas]. Reliable transport is a plus.
