PURPOSE:
This is a Learnership Programme where incumbents will complete the following training:
- Work in a team
- Safety Hand tools
- Assembly & manufacturing Drawing &
- Marking off Welding
- Operate & monitor production machines
- Prepare surfaces
- Fire fighting
- Operations & dispatch products
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- National Technical Certificate [N3 – N6]
- Matric/Technical Matric with Maths & Physical Science or Engineering Science, Electrical Trade Theory or Mechanical Trade Theory, or Motor trade Theory, Mechanical Drawing, Graphical Design,
COMPETENCIES:
- Good Communication skills
- Planning and Organizing Adaptability Analytical
- Accurate information gathering and analysis
- Perseverance
NQF Level 3 certification achieved on completion of learnership programme.
What is the Toyota Learnership / Maintenance Learnership
- It’s a structured programme combining on-the-job / practical training with theoretical learning.
- The goal is to equip learners with technical and manufacturing skills relevant to the automotive industry.
- On successful completion, you get a certified qualification (often NQF Level 3).
Key Components / What the Training Covers
You’ll learn and do things like:
- Working in a team environment.
- Safety protocols, including safe use of tools.
- Hand tools, marking off, welding etc.
- Reading and interpreting manufacturing/assembly drawings.
- Operating and monitoring production machines.
- Surface preparation, fire‑fighting basics, operations and dispatch.
Who Can Apply / Requirements
Here are the general eligibility criteria:
- Be a South African citizen or have the right to work in SA.
- Have a Matric or Technical Matric, or a National Technical Certificate (NTC) / Technical Certificate at levels N3 to N6.
- Subjects: Mathematics & Physical Science (or Engineering Science) are usually required (or similar technical subjects). Also subjects like Mechanical Trade Theory, Electrical Trade Theory, Motor Trade Theory, Mechanical Drawing / Graphic Design etc.
- Some non‑technical “soft skills” and personal attributes are often asked for: good communication, adaptability, planning & organizational ability, accuracy / attention to detail, perseverance.
