Purpose of the Role

  • Provide high-quality customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Support the daily operations of the store to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Contribute to achieving sales targets through active customer engagement
  • Maintain excellent merchandise presentation to attract and retain customers
  • Build strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
  • Assist in creating a welcoming and professional store environment
  • Ensure all customer queries and concerns are handled promptly and professionally

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification is essential
  • Previous retail or sales experience will be an added advantage
  • Basic computer literacy for handling sales and administrative systems
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a retail environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets set by management
  • Assist customers in selecting products and provide accurate product information
  • Promote store products and special offers to increase sales
  • Ensure shelves and displays are always neat, clean, and well-stocked
  • Maintain store cleanliness and ensure a safe shopping environment
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times

Stock and Administration Duties

  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing stock in the stockroom
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment on the sales floor
  • Handle mark-downs and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Manage lay-by processes in line with company procedures
  • Follow all administrative processes related to stock control
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and minimize stock losses

Store Operations and Compliance

  • Protect all store assets including stock, cash, equipment, and property
  • Follow company policies and procedures at all times
  • Assist in implementing store layout and merchandising standards
  • Support management in daily operational tasks
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Report any issues or irregularities to management immediately

Work Environment Expectations

  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment with high customer interaction
  • Stand for long periods and remain active throughout shifts
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality of work
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
