Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies Distribution Centre KZN has an opportunity available for a DC Driver (Code 10).The main purpose of this position is to deliver goods to customers in a timely, productive, and professional manner while upholding Dis-Chem quality standards.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate and valid Code 10 Drivers Licence with PDP
Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience as Driver
Job Specification…
Ensure the right products get delivered to the right store/customer at the right time
Use the shortest and most efficient route to the delivery store and back to the warehouse
Verify all shipments listed on the relevant delivery documents and ensure that it is correctly and
accurately off-loaded at the delivery site
Ensure that all collections/store returns/Inter-branches are correctly packed, sealed, checked, signed
for and returned to the relevant debriefing area
Responsible for the loading and offloading of shipments, returns/inter-branches, empty pallets, totes,
waste material and equipment at the relevant debriefing area
Adhere to warehouse loading and offloading policies and procedures the relevant tracking and delivery
system processes and instructions
Ensure the returns of empty pallets, totes and recyclable cardboard, plastic and equipment are
accurately
Offload the correct goods at the required location in such a manner as to prevent damages
Ensure that the vehicle is never left unattended during the delivery process
Responsible to keep the vehicle clean and washed
Inspect vehicle for any defects and safe operational conditions before, during and after trips and report
any concerns to the manager
Be responsible for the fuel card and ensure that the card is only used for the vehicle which the card
was allocated to.

Essential:
Knowledge of South African road rules and regulations
Finds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to
Conveys ideas and facts verbally using language
Addresses customers questions in a timely manner
Recognises the need for procedures and follows relevant procedures
Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves
results with little oversight
Computer skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Special conditions of employment:
South African or valid work permit
MIE, no criminal record, and clear credit rating
Driver’s license and own reliable transport
Physical efforts – Heavy lifting and moving of boxes
