About the Role
GWK Agri Retail is seeking a General Worker to provide basic operational and support services within a retail agricultural environment. This entry-level position is suited to individuals who are reliable, physically capable, and willing to learn.
The role offers an opportunity to establish yourself in a structured, professional, and corporate environment within the agricultural sector, particularly in a rural or countryside setting.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of general support tasks, including but not limited to:
- Providing general assistance within the retail store
- Shelf care, cleaning, and basic housekeeping services
- Assisting with receiving, unpacking, and merchandising irrigation and agricultural stock, including pipes, fittings, sprinklers, and pumps
- Loading and offloading products for customers and suppliers
- Handling stock and assisting with basic stock control
- Supporting security and loss prevention procedures
- Handling internal mail and deliveries
- Performing ad hoc duties as required by management
The role requires attention to cleanliness, organisation, and safety while supporting day-to-day retail operations.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Basic understanding of or interest in irrigation, plumbing, or agricultural products (advantageous)
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team
Previous experience is not essential, making this role suitable for entry-level candidates seeking exposure to the agricultural retail environment.
