120 × Limpopo Department of Education Learner Support Agent (LSA) Opportunities 2025/2026
The Limpopo Department of Education is inviting applications from suitably qualified, unemployed young South Africans for 120 Learner Support Agent (LSA) positions across the province for the 2025/2026 period. These opportunities are framed as fixed-term contracts to support school-based and district-based learner support initiatives from November 2025 to April 2026.
Purpose of the Programme
The LSA programme is designed to bolster the care and support framework within schools by placing youth in roles where they assist with psychosocial support, administrative tasks, learner engagement and community liaison. In doing so, it both strengthens the education system in Limpopo and offers young unemployed residents meaningful work experience.
Available Posts & Placement
There are 120 posts available in total, distributed across the province in both “school-based” and “district-based” capacities. Schools and circuits within Limpopo – including areas such as Nkowankowa, Giyani, Letaba, Lebopo, Mutale, Mamaila, Lulekani and Namakgale – are among the placements cited. Applicants are encouraged to apply for posts close to their place of residence.
Duration and Remuneration
The contract duration spans approximately nine months—from November 2025 through to April 2026. A monthly stipend of about R4,000 is offered. While the programme is temporary in nature, it aims to provide valuable working experience, skills development and exposure within the education and community support sectors.

- Be aged between 18 and 35 years old (some variant listings say up to 40 for certain sub-roles).

For district-based LSAs, additional beneficial qualifications may include a diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Auxiliary Social Work or Psychology, and relevant experience with learners or support programmes.

District-Based LSAs
- Implement broader programmes at district level, supervise school-based LSAs, collect learner-data and coordinate referral systems.
- Engage with multiple schools, districts and community partners to identify high-need areas and deliver support.
