Job Description
RCL Foods is looking for an energetic and hardworking individual to join their depot team in Ladysmith as a Dispatch Clerk. The successful candidate will work closely with drivers and the Depot Manager to ensure the smooth movement of stock and crates.
The main purpose of this role is to control dispatch operations by ensuring accurate stock movement, proper crate management, and completion of all paperwork correctly and on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced warehouse or depot environment.
The Dispatch Clerk will play an important role in ensuring that deliveries leave on time, stock balances correctly, and returned items are properly recorded. This role is suitable for someone with previous dispatch or warehouse experience who enjoys working with numbers, stock, and logistics processes.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 / Matric
Skills
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- Good numerical skills
- Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Excel and Email
Experience
- Previous experience in a dispatch department
- FMCG experience will be an advantage
- Experience dealing with customers will be beneficial
- Experience working with JDE system will be an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities
Stock Management
- Ensure stock is loaded according to company safety standards
- Count returned stock when vehicles come back to the depot
- Issue credit notes for returned stock from drivers or customers
- Conduct cycle counts of stock in dispatch
- Investigate and explain stock variances
- Ensure accurate receipting and dispatching of products
Crate Control
- Maintain correct movement of crates on the JDE system
- Perform crate counts of all Sunshine crates on company premises
- Report crate losses or discrepancies immediately
- Record crates returned by drivers
- Issue crate slips to drivers
Transactional Duties
- Print invoices from JDE system
- Manage loaders and support dispatch operations
- Transfer stock accurately to driver route locations
- Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and submitted on time
